Interactive visualization of mechanical properties for different materials and iron crystal structures

About the Visualization

Iron Crystal Structures:

╬▒-Fe (BCC) - Body-Centered Cubic: Ferrite, stable below 912°C, higher strength but lower ductility

╬│-Fe (FCC) - Face-Centered Cubic: Austenite, stable 912-1394°C, more ductile, basis for stainless steel

╬╡-Fe (HCP) - Hexagonal Close-Packed: Forms under high pressure, highest strength but brittle

Other Materials:

Aluminium - Low density, good ductility, excellent for aerospace applications

Brass - Copper-zinc alloy, good formability and corrosion resistance

Bronze - Copper-tin alloy, higher strength than brass, excellent wear resistance
