Stress-Strain Curves: Material Comparison
ЁЯУК Stress-Strain Curves: Material Comparison
Interactive visualization of mechanical properties for different materials and iron crystal structures
About the Visualization
Iron Crystal Structures:
• ╬▒-Fe (BCC) - Body-Centered Cubic: Ferrite, stable below 912°C, higher strength but lower ductility
• ╬│-Fe (FCC) - Face-Centered Cubic: Austenite, stable 912-1394°C, more ductile, basis for stainless steel
• ╬╡-Fe (HCP) - Hexagonal Close-Packed: Forms under high pressure, highest strength but brittle
Other Materials:
• Aluminium - Low density, good ductility, excellent for aerospace applications
• Brass - Copper-zinc alloy, good formability and corrosion resistance
• Bronze - Copper-tin alloy, higher strength than brass, excellent wear resistance
